It is amazing how the internet can help you find your partner for life. Some may not believe this but it sure has helped my find my husband Nick. It is hard to explain why we blended so well. It is probably because we are both single parents and have been dateless for years. No, I did not meet him through friends or family but I met him via the internet. To be specific it was through a dating site. After briefly introducing each other over the internet, we started chatting for weeks. It was then followed by regular phone calls. For another week or two, we simply talked on the phone. Then, he finally asked me for a date. I was hesitant but since it has been awhile since we met online, I decided it is time to take it a step farther, so I agreed.

I met Vincent at a neighbourhood party. He was standing across the clubhouse; he walked up to me and introduced himself. We talked for a little when he told me that he is working as surgeon I felt the urge to walk away and so I did. He was astounded at my reaction and went after me. He grabbed me by the arm as I was about to leave the clubhouse and asked what was wrong. I told him that I do not like surgeons because they have this GOD complex. They think they can do not it all. It was too late when I realized that I was already ranting. I looked at him and he was just smiling at me. None of the things I said offended him, which was somewhat amazing.  He told me that I should get to know him better and that we should continue talking at the local cafe located across the street.

Working in a hospital as a nurse is never easy. In fact, I hardly have time for myself. I need to work and that includes holidays like Christmas and New Year. Truth be told, I have spent more Christmas celebrations and New Year’s parties at the hospital than at home.
